SIT Furniture Design Award Gala at KKL Luzern, Switzerland.
The SIT Furniture Design Award, a prestigious celebration of innovation and excellence in the outstanding creations of furniture designers and individuals integrating furniture into their projects, took center stage at the iconic KKL Luzern, Switzerland, last Saturday, November 18th. The gala event, set against the stunning backdrop of KKL Luzern’s architectural brilliance, showcased the industry’s top talents and their remarkable contributions.
The evening commenced with an inspiring opening speech by Dominic Sturm, the President of the Swiss Design Association (SDA), setting the tone for an evening of recognition and celebration. The event featured an illustrious list of attendees, showcasing the diversity and excellence within the global design community. Among the prominent professional figures in attendance were: Kateryna Churina – Churina Design, Vincenzo Vinci – Vinci Design Studio – Vasil Velchev, Marcos Duailibe – Mc+ Arquitetos, Cameron Smith – FurnitureSmith; Students from leading Design Universities joined the event from the University of Stuttgart, UDIT – Universidad de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología, MIT Institute of Design, Artcenter Design of College, GeorgiaTech, Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad De México and many more.
The ceremony was helmed by Astrid Hebert and Hossein Farmani, Co-Founders of the 3C Awards, while SIT Award Jury member Charles O. Job, an accomplished Designer & Architect, presented all the trophies. With degrees from Oxford Brookes University and experience in global architecture practices, he’s known for his commitment to simplicity in research, temporary architecture, and furniture design.
Following the awards ceremonies, attendees were treated to a sumptuous cocktail dinner reception—a perfect opportunity for professionals to connect, share insights, and revel in the shared passion for innovation and creative expression. The atmosphere was truly festive, ensuring everyone had a delightful time and adding to the overall experience of the evening.

Celebrating Innovation: SIT Furniture Design Award 2021 Grand Winners Revealed
The SIT Furniture Design Award has announced the Grand Winners for 2021 in both professional and student categories. The award recognizes the hard work and creativity of talented furniture designers, interior designers, and decorators who incorporate furniture into their space design.
The 2021 honorees in Furniture Design include Tutti Bambini for the “CoZee XL” designed by Michael Samuel, Maytoni Gmbh for “Amulet” a decorative accent lamp, Vinci Design Studio with the “Mau” chair, Karim Rashid for the “Keen Sun Chaise”, and Kitchoo SA showcasing “Kitchoo K9” a smart tiny kitchen. In terms of Interior Design, the program awarded Messana O’Rorke with the “Junegrass House”, Bolshakova Interiors won in the apartment interior category with the “Renaissance Residence”, Studio GAIA with the design of “W Washington D.C. Hotel” and Weyell Berner Architekten for the “Green Marmot Kapselhotel Zurich” among others.
The SIT Furniture Design Award is an esteemed recognition that highlights the innovative ideas and concepts presented by furniture designers and interior designers globally. The award aims to promote creativity and reward excellence in the industry. Congratulations to all the winners!

Announcing the Winners of the SIT Furniture Design Award 2020
The SIT Furniture Design Award has announced the winners of its 2020 edition, recognizing the efforts of talented international furniture designers, interior designers, and decorators. Due to the extreme circumstances of COVID-19, the Board of SIT Award decided to host an online event; to congratulate the winners, showcase a selection of winning works and reveal the Grand Winners.
The award celebrates creativity, innovation, and accessibility in the furniture design community worldwide. The winners were evaluated by the jury members from 53 countries, based on the highest current furniture design standards and trends, as well as visionary interior designers showcasing creativity and innovation. The SIT Award winners include Country Garden Nantong Riverbank Sales Office for Interior Design of the Year, Sage by David Rockwell for Benchmark for Furniture Design of the Year, Le Fer Plat V for Emerging Interior Designer of the Year, MEMORIA Chair for Emerging Furniture Designer of the Year, and SecretAir – The Discrete Home Office Sideboard for Innovation of the Year. Additionally, the award has created a Digital Innovation Center, and the annual winner of the Digital Innovation Center receives a cash prize of US$4,000 to realize a prototype or start production.
