Javier Palomares is a Pasadena-based Product and Furniture Designer and Professor of Product Design at ArtCenter College of Design. A graduate of ArtCenter himself, Javier specializes in the development of contemporary furniture for residential and hospitality environments, blending craftsmanship with innovation in every project.
His work has been showcased at renowned design events including High Point Market, ICFF with Bernhardt Design at the Javits Center, and Dwell on Design in Los Angeles. Notably, his conference table design earned Gold in its category at NEOCON in Chicago—one of the industry’s most prestigious recognitions.
A devoted enthusiast of Artificial Intelligence in the design process, Javier actively explores how emerging technologies can elevate idea generation, prototyping, and material visualization.
In addition to his professional practice, Javier teaches in the Graduate Industrial Design Master’s programs at ArtCenter, where he inspires the next generation of designers to embrace both technological fluency and human-centered approaches. He has also contributed to Designmatters, ArtCenter’s social innovation program, guiding students in the creation of design solutions with real-world impact.
