The Mikado Shelf is a freestanding shelf. The purpose of this design is to be a piece of art of storage. It aims to make people smile and be a delighted point of any environment it got placed in.
The shelf is inspired by the Mikado game or the pick-up stick game. I appreciate the randomness of the sticks, the colorful strips on the sticks, the process of choosing the right stick to pick up and move it without touching the others. So, I want to duplicate the process and visuals.

The prototype is made with plywood.
