Blue Monday

“Blue Monday” is a floor lamp from our “Monday”- collection. It is a lamp that is tensed between floor and ceiling by means of a Ayous support. The cylindrical part contains the fitting for the light bulb and is made of multiple pieces of Valchromat that are glued together. This part can be raised or lowered on the support for the best result.

The support has to be around 3% longer than the height of the ceiling. The light fixture can be changed in height by loosening the button on the back. A mirror bulb light is preferred, but others may have a different opinion. Al is well as long is it fits the E27 socket.

Design and research:

We wanted to create a floor lamp that is different in form and material. So we had the idea to get rid of the standard standing position and came up with a stick that is tensed between floor and ceiling. We choose Ayous as it is a flexible wood without the fragile buttons. And it is a warm, good looking material.

The cylinder is made of cnc-cut Valchromat discs that are glued together under pressure, sandpapered multiple times and finished with a strong mat varnish. The Valchromat is colored in the core and fire retardant.

Dasein Products is a very young design brand, founded in 2018 in Belgium and already winner of several awards from around the globe. They like to rethink interior objects by means of material use and out of the box construction. But always with functionality in mind.
