Volume is an armchair made from two soft forms nested together to create a comfortable and inviting place to sit. The two sculpted shapes come together along a gently curving seam that carries smooth lines throughout the chair. A wide back-rest creates personal space in a small foot-print, and a 360 swivel base allows you to view your surroundings. Made from bent plywood and latex formed cushions with 3D knit covers to conserve materials that can later be separated and repaired or recycled.
Bio Andrew Sack is an award-winning Industrial Designer with 9+ years of experience. He received his B.F.A. in Product Design from Parsons School of Design in 2011. Specializing in Lighting Design and Technical Design challenges, Andrew believes in a design process that is informed, efficient, and multidisciplinary. His designs hold a technical simplicity derived from geometry, utilizing a process that is both hands-on and computer-based.
