We designed the Marcus chair for Mark Poynton’s new Restaurant within Caistor Hall hotel. The leg frame is constructed from Solid Oak and a small integral hand bag draw/shelf has been added into the Oak frame. This shelf or draw within the chair is also internally upholstered and has a solid brass handle to the side quite thin and slim. We wanted the draw and its handle to sit inside the frame. The chair design and size of seat from back to front was to incorporate a small cushion at the back of seat to add further comfort and opulence and give that added little touch for a Michelin Star hopeful restaurant. Finally we slopped the arms at the front of the chair as much as we could to allow the chair arm to sit under the table top and not impede the customer experience. The customer experience was one of the lead requests. To be a comfortable chair that ticked all the boxes and had an added little quirk of a draw that is not seen on many restaurant chairs. Client was extremely happy with the product we designed and they look fabulous in the restaurant. More importantly the customers love them.
