Arid is a rocking chair that is inspired by the experiences in the Joshua Tree National Park. The goal is to design a seating element that allows people to be closer to ground and nature. There are many organic shapes on Arid that came from nature, which make people feel like they are sitting in the wild, even when they are back to the city.

Meanwhile, nature won't limit how people sit around, and they can face different directions with various postures. Therefore, Arid follows the principles from the nature without any limitation and gives people a feeling of sitting on the shaky rock with relax and comfort.

The bottom is an upside down dome shape that turns Arid into a rocking chair, and the slight curve will make people relax. When the sunshine goes through the holes on the surrounding surface, it will create elegant patterns inside that are inspired by the died cholla wood. The top upholstery is also in dome shape and covered by comfortable beige wool fabric that fits the overall design language.
