The lampshade is one of the furniture series designed with the theme of Taiwanese indigenous culture, with its name derived from the Amis tribe language, meaning 'star'. We use the Amis tribe's 'Octagonal Star' and 'Eye of Ancestors' symbols in our design, symbolizing 'illuminate all things and guard by ancestors. When looked up to, the shapes of these symbols become discernible, yet from other angles, they resemble well-known symbols like the pentagram or butterfly, symbolizing the compatibility between tribal and international cultures.
The lampshade's opening diameter fits most lamp bases, making it versatile for pendant lights, floor lamps, table lamps, and more. The lampshade is made of local wood, aiding carbon sequestration and encouraging government reforestation, reducing emissions from imported wood transport, and we use special eco-friendly coatings to enhance the strength of the wood veneer. We provide recycling services to repurpose old products into new ones, aligning with 'full material utilization' and the 'Net-Zero' program principles. These efforts embed sustainability into our products, ensuring its continuity in our creations.

Bio
I'm a Taiwanese industrial designer.
'Flight' is my first creation in my career in furniture design, and it has also been selected as a finalist for the 2023 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) in the Furniture & Lighting category.
It is the second time that I participate in SIT.
