The Johari Bazaar, literally meaning the Jewellers’ market is an ode to the jeweller who works with his hands intricately, crafting precious jewellery for patron customers. The coffee table pays homage to the centuries-old tradition of jewellery-making situated in Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.

The johri (jewellery maker) works on his ancestral table, passed on as a heritage from generation to generation. With his drawings and descriptions on graph paper, he delicately carves and fixes the gemstones in the pieces he is crafting. The coffee table comprises of the detailed depiction of the jewellery makers table in metal etching, immortalizing the various stages of jewellery-making. The brass top, antiqued as a depiction of the antiquity of the table, sits on an arched aluminium base, illustrating the collonades of the market, adding a layer of the architecture of the streets of Jaipur !
