My chair design is inspired by the Japanese character ? (seven) and the art of origami. It reflects my Japanese identity and is designed to be easily built by anyone, even in limited spaces and with simple tools—embracing the DIY culture I encountered while living in Europe. As a furniture maker, I’ve seen the demand for both high-end and everyday furniture. With this design, I want to share the joy of making things by hand with the next generation and spark greater interest in craftsmanship. The chair also merges the traditional Japanese lifestyle close to the floor with the needs of modern, space-saving living—offering two functions in a single, versatile piece.

Bio
As a furniture maker from Japan, I strive to create designs that bridge traditional culture and modern living. While incorporating motifs rooted in my heritage, I also draw inspiration from my experiences in Europe, aiming to craft simple, functional furniture that anyone can build. Having worked with both high-end and mass-produced furniture, I am passionate about sharing the joy of making and the value of craftsmanship with the next generation. Through flexible, multi-purpose designs that fit comfortably in limited living spaces, I hope to enhance the quality of everyday life.
