„Comma1" is a chair with coushoned rigid cantilever seat (50x45 cm at 45cm height) attached to the front legs only. A slot in the middle of the rear part is protecting the coccyx. The profile of the backrest is accordig to Dr. Akelbrom, inclinated backwards, following the curves of the backbone – concave with 140 cm radius in the upper part and convex with 13 cm radius below. The frame is trapezial for more stability. The material of the back is durable fabric (like the surface of the seat and armrests), spanned between the pipes of the frame placed in it‘s sleaves. It can also be a mesh, or leather.
The construction is from ALU pipes, but it can be any kind of durable, not heavier polymeres, metal, or carbon etc. The frame on the ground is curved with a big radius, the armrests are compact and with adjustable position and height.
Functionality and ergonomic were leading design criteria. The oscillating seat combined with the backrest and armrests is unloading the backbone creating a decompression in the lumbar area during 1/3 up to 2/3 of the sitting sessions.
The spiral transition of the armrest to backrest and the feedering/dumping solution make the chair unique and recognisable.
