The Ouh Chair fuses modern technology with traditional craft to evoke a cosmological sensation. Its intricate yet balanced form challenges the repetition of contemporary furniture, moving beyond mid-century replicas or pop-art excess. Rather than chasing novelty or consumer trends, it grounds us in what we truly need as humans: objects with presence, soul, and meaning.
In a time of digital saturation and isolation, furniture must offer more than utility—it must create connection. Ouh Chair embodies patience and craft while embracing advanced tools. Starting from sketches, the design evolved in immersive VR to capture organic curves and refine ergonomics, then shifted to CAD for precision. Full-scale prototypes ensured comfort and balance before hardwood was cut with multi-axis CNC. Complex surfaces were machined, while joinery was hand-finished using mortise-and-tenon cuts guided by a camera-vision router.
This hybrid process demonstrates how VR, CNC, and robotics can coexist with human touch. Ouh Chair offers a fresh design language for a saturated market, uniting innovation and craft to create furniture that is timeless, resonant, and deeply human.
