Urban sidewalks are often hard, uninviting, and lacking rest. The Trellis Bench is designed to create shade, seating, and ecological benefit in high-traffic areas.

Features include a curved, layered form, integrated native gardens for pollinators, and seating for users of all abilities. A single bench can stand alone or be layered along a sidewalk to create a natural canopy, softening urban hardscapes while evoking tree cover and introducing green systems.

Constructed with durable painted steel and warm cherry wood slats, the bench balances comfort, longevity, and ease of installation. Its design creates micro-gathering zones near local businesses and transit stops, encouraging social interaction and pause.

By combining seating, shelter, and greenery, the Trellis Bench activates streetscapes year-round. Native plants that flower in spring and berry in winter support pollinators, reduce heat stress, and enhance urban climate resilience.

This adaptable, visually dynamic intervention strengthens the ecological and social fabric of any city, offering a memorable, playful, and community-forward experience.
