Scarlet Lounge – in fiberglass (limited edition)
Dimensions: L 303 cm × H 121 cm × W 112 cm
Scarlet Lounge is a sculptural seating piece conceived as a form caught between motion and stillness. Its dual character is revealed through two opposing views: from the front, the object suggests acceleration — a body poised to advance; from the rear, it evokes arrest and retreat, recalling the tension between predator and prey.
The asymmetrical displacement of the legs introduces a controlled imbalance that captures the trace of a sudden turn. Though structurally stable, the piece appears unsettled, holding the memory of movement within a fixed volume.
Zoomorphic without literal reference, Scarlet Lounge moves between creature and crafted object, sculpture and usable furniture. Its continuous surface emphasizes presence and mass, while its function grounds it in everyday interaction.
By bringing together opposing readings — advance and withdrawal, instinct and intention — the piece proposes furniture as an inhabited moment rather than a neutral object.
