This lighting collection is inspired by the soft, protective form of an umbrella and the floating presence of a jellyfish.
The structure is composed of curved ribs that create a light, dome-like silhouette. The light source runs along the lower edge, forming a gentle halo that defines the shape and casts a calm, diffused glow.
The light source is integrated only into the lower circular base of the dome. The ribs and vertical elements do not contain LEDs; they act as a lightweight structural frame and reflective surfaces. Two LED layers are placed within the base: one directed downward for functional illumination, and one directed upward to softly illuminate the dome structure from within. This creates a dual condition: a focused light below and a subtle atmospheric glow above.
Instead of enclosing the light, the structure holds it lightly, allowing the object to feel open and breathable. Suspended versions create a sense of weightlessness, while floor versions bring the same softness closer to the user.
The project focuses on lightness, kindness of light, and a quiet emotional connection between object and space.
