The site is a mixed-use development with commercial storefronts at the street level and residential condominiums from the 3rd floor and above. It is located in a historical neighborhood adjacent to the Jingmei river in Taipei city. This neighborhood is known for its important historical irrigation canal system called Liugongjun, which provided irrigation during the Qing dynasty and Japanese colonial period. The rich local history has inspired the designer to incorporate these aspects into the common spaces. The arched storefront corridors and recurring arched doors serve as reminders of the local history. The second floor is a common area divided into different sections, with a circulation pattern inspired by water flow. The curved lines of the ceiling and stainless steel corrugated wall panels reflect the image of flowing water. White marble effect ceramic wall tiles are used to represent water flow and reduce energy consumption. Locally designed and produced tiles are used for the floorings and walls to minimize the carbon footprint.
