Stool. Table. Model 001.

ST-001 is a simple and minimalistic item that is versatile depending on what the user intends it to be. Initially designed as a stool, ST-001 follows a three-legged design as many stools do, but incorporates a triangular geometry throughout its shape. As iterations were changed, so was function. The final model can serve as both a stool and a side/ coffee table. Because of the shape, each ST-001 could be put together to form a larger surface, whether it be a bench or a table.

3/4" Baltic Birch wood was cut out via a CNC machine and the rest was done by hand. Using only 150 - 300 grit sandpaper, edges and corners were rounded and smoothed out with countless hours of sanding. Two layers of polyurethane were applied after the initial sanding to create a smooth and matte feel (sanding involved after each application as well). Glue isn't necessary for leg insertion, as the tension for each insert accounted for that aspect. Each make is marked with a "tag" to create individuality.

Ten models were made as this was a project with the prompt being to create ten of an item. All ten stools were sold.
