This lounge chair was part of a speculative project that I designed to challenge myself. It utilized 3D modeling to design and cut a large MDF 2 part mold for the large bent lamination.

Constructed from Ash and upholstered in genuine leather, the Solis Lounge Chair is truly one of a kind. Its striking frame features a continuous bent lamination of 1/18? ash veneers, seamlessly flowing from the backrest to the arms and down to the side rails—a feat of woodworking precision and patience.
The chair’s distinctive joinery not only enhances its aesthetic but ensures durability that will stand the test of time. Finished with a durable semi-gloss varnish and containing subtle brass accents, the Solis Lounge Chair would make a great centerpiece of any space.
