This 40 year-old beachfront home underwent a striking transformation, turning a once dark, enclosed space into a bright, open sanctuary. Previously disconnected from its stunning surroundings, the house now embraces the sea and jungle from nearly every angle—enhanced by a mirrored wall that not only amplifies the views but cleverly conceals the first-floor bathroom.
Light-toned local wood and rich green stone replace the once heavy interiors, creating a seamless connection to the lush landscape. A fusion of Moroccan influences, Costa Rican jungle aesthetics, and locally crafted materials infuses the space with character and authenticity (Approximately 70% of the furniture was locally sourced and handcrafted including kitchen, closets, consoles and seating).
The custom-made exterior furniture purposefully contrasts with the floor's rich zellige patters. More than just a renovation, this project is a celebration of place, culture, and the perfect balance between architecture, interior design, furniture design and nature.
