Sandbox is a comfortable and utilitarian seating solution for art and design studios. The stool conveniently houses sketch pad paper to keep necessary supplies within reach and perfectly integrated into the creative workflow. The stool features a nested paper roll that slots through its exterior, complemented by an outer blade for precise slicing, allowing for seamless use and easy access to one of the most fundamental creative essentials.

The stool was crafted from a single sheet of 1-inch Baltic birch plywood, with its curved profile achieved through kerf bending. The paper slot was routed by hand, with a recessed channel fitted with a dimensioned A4 guillotine blade for clean and consistent cuts. A removable metal tube holding the paper is suspended by fitted brackets, allowing for smooth rotation and easy replacement. Joinery was kept simple but strong, using domino mortises to lock subassemblies in place. To complete the build, a walnut veneered finish was applied, giving the stool a refined look while protecting the surface from wear.
