VERS is a multifunctional furniture piece designed with a focus on dynamic living spaces. The motivation for this project was to offer a new perspective on functionality in today’s home environments. The unit is composed of two parts that, through various connection and disassembly actions, form diverse functional structures. These structures are stabilized by geometric locks and placements, enabling versatile configurations. The unit offers 360-degree functionality, with no single correct usage – only various configuration suggestions. Whether employed as a step, bedside table, chair, or table, it serves as a practical tool that invites the users to explore different setups. The unit is made of ash wood, and after researching various colour applications and finishes, the final palette selected includes three shades and a combination of painting techniques. Each finish has a unique character: vibrant ultramarine-blue, a bold colour accent within the space, Natural Ash with a wax finish, highlighting the wood’s natural beauty, and a transparent grey-wash to highlight the grain with a subtle, mysterious effect.
