Cat Chair is a playful, interactive seating piece designed for children, inspired by the lively and curious nature of my Siamese cat, Pidan. Supported by spring-loaded legs, the chair gently bounces with movement, transforming sitting into an engaging experience that mimics a cat’s playful energy. The subtle instability encourages dynamic seating, allowing children to shift, wiggle, and explore movement in a fun and safe way.

The chair is meticulously crafted using various woodworking techniques. The seat is formed through plywood lamination, ensuring durability while maintaining a lightweight structure. The legs are hand-turned on a lathe. Springs securely connect the legs to the seat, providing flexibility and a responsive bounce. For comfort, the seat and backrest are upholstered with foam and soft fabric with the color palette of siamese cat.

With a whimsical cat silhouette, soft upholstered cushions, and wooden details, Cat Chair is both a functional piece and a delightful character in a child’s space. Designed to spark joy and imagination, this chair invites kids to move, play, and interact—just like their favorite furry companions.
