The Maria Lounge Chair reinterprets classic Brazilian craftsmanship through a contemporary lens, balancing lightness, structure and tradition. The piece is defined by a delicate metal frame that supports a handwoven cane backrest, framed in solid wood with gentle curvature. This combination creates a visual dialogue between transparency and solidity, warmth and precision. The cushioned circular seat contrasts with the orthogonal frame, adding a tactile softness that enhances both comfort and visual balance. The armrests, in turn, feature a refined detail: the metal structure is partially wrapped in natural leather, providing a warm touch that elevates the sensory experience. The slight incline of the backrest invites relaxation, while the minimal footprint and airy construction make the chair adaptable to various interior settings. By merging industrial rationality with artisanal elements, the design reflects a modernist spirit anchored in Brazilian heritage. The use of natural materials such as woven cane, solid wood and leather speaks to culturally grounded production methods, while the clean lines and functional clarity position the piece within a contemporary design.
