While working on the NewHope project, the authors focused primarily on optimizing its construction to make it as simple as possible for any user to assemble. As a result, a chair was developed that consists of just three elements and only two screws. The stability of the furniture is ensured by the carefully designed geometry of the seat frame. Assembly of the chair requires no tools whatsoever!
The design allows for flat-pack storage and distribution, minimizing its carbon footprint. The entire piece has been designed in wood – the most sustainable material. Thanks to the chosen material and the straightforward self-assembly system, it is possible to replace damaged parts at any stage of the product’s life cycle.
The proposed color combinations not only emphasize the three-part construction but also give users the opportunity to create a patchwork-style piece of furniture. The name NewHope reflects the sincere intention that as many products offered to consumers as possible should be designed and manufactured in the spirit of sustainability.
