Aluminum is light, strong, and naturally resistant to corrosion. It is an ideal material for furniture.
Like origami, aluminum sheets can be cut, folded, and shaped into almost anything. I call it the cold bond of materials.
Formed from 5 mm aluminum sheet, laser cut, bent, and finished with an oven cured powder coating.
My work questions why furniture should feel distant or purely functional. I introduce small, unexpected details, like a toe.
A simple gesture, almost unnecessary, yet it shifts the object. The chair begins to suggest a body, a presence. Something that could move, or walk away in a cartoon.
