INSPIRATION
The world of textiles and in particular the field of weaving is vast and full of wonderful things, as someone who loves weaving, I was drawn into the structure of the loom itself, and the course of the threads on it. The frustration with the stage from which I took inspiration was a key for me. I looked at the wires, stretched and saw how you could change the angle a little and get a seating system. thus combining two worlds that I love.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I am a textile designer, and my field of specialization is weaving. The chair brings the connection between the world of weaving and the world of chairs. Clean design of wood, and threads. The thread track in the chair is inspired by a specific stage in the weaving craft. This is the stage where the warp are prepared for the loom.
PRODUCTION
The chair is built in an ideal way, with hidden fasteners to maintain a clean appearance. The wood is pine wood, and the thread is cotton thread. The construction is built from two halves of a chair with wood in a square profile, and the ties are round rods. The choice of connection between round and square is also inspired by the loom.
Bio My name is Ann Shitrit, and I’m a textile and furniture designer. As someone who is half Danish, I was raised with the values of Scandinavian culture – simplicity, warmth, and a deep respect for materials and craftsmanship.
I founded N studio to bridge between the Danish concept of hygge and the sun-drenched, earthy tones of the desert landscape where I grew up.
I design and handcraft rugs and furniture that combine textiles and wood, each piece shaped by my personal design language – soft, grounded, and rich in feeling.
My work is about creating connection: between people and the spaces they
