The Axis project explores the interplay between linear and planar elements, as well as the question of the hierarchy between them and how they mutually depend on one another.
The planar elements made of black MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) form the topography of the piece of furniture, while the linear elements constitute the load-bearing structural framework that supports the surfaces and follows their form. Within the linear elements, a distinction is made between primary and secondary components, which are weighted differently in hierarchical terms. The main axis holds the highest rank within this structure. It is made of oak and is dimensioned more robustly than the secondary support leg, which penetrates the main axis without interrupting it.
