Pathar Dil is a sculptural cabinet inspired by Hyderabad’s ancient granite rock formations, some of the oldest in the world and a defining part of the city’s identity. Inspired by Pathar dil, a heart-shaped rock formation in Hyderabad, the name combines Pathar (stone) and Dil (heart), meaning “Heart of Stone.” The piece translates the emotional and physical presence of this formation into a functional object for contemporary interiors. The cabinet is composed of four storage chambers, subtly referencing the four chambers of the human heart. These volumes are arranged in a balanced yet asymmetrical composition, echoing the way natural boulders rest against one another. Its form language combines faceted planes, softened transitions, and bold geometry, reinterpreting the rugged qualities of stone through refined craftsmanship. At the center of the composition is a cast aluminum element that connects all four chambers while creating the illusion of a floating assembly. It features irregular contours and a naturally textured finish created through the casting process. Pathar Dil transforms furniture into a collectible design. More than a cabinet, it is a tribute to Hyderabad’s Rocks
