The Stolovaca AA9 is a traditional Montenegrin-Serbian chair and an important part of the cultural heritage of these regions. The first known Stolovaca originated in Montenegro and dates back to the Middle Ages, likely to the 12th or 13th century. This chair is crafted from solid wood, preserving its authenticity and longevity through the centuries.
In line with modern demands and the needs of contemporary times, a decision was made to redesign this iconic chair. Preserving its essential characteristics, such as the three legs and simple form, became imperative, but with the addition of new elements to make it more functional and aesthetically pleasing for today's users.
The ultimate goal of redesigning this iconic chair is not just to preserve tradition but to create a bridge between the past and the future, merging the values of heritage with the demands of the modern era. In this spirit, the new chair is not merely a piece of furniture but a symbol of enduring value, functionality, and aesthetics that will outlast trends and remain an inspiration for future generations.

Other prizes STOLOVACA AA9 was originally created for the Buildner 2023 competition, where it received a special recognition. Since then, this piece has not been submitted to any other competitions.
