The idea behind the ORA armchair lies in its simplicity. A semicircle with two surfaces – reduced to the essentials. The first sketches were created during my travels in Nicaragua. The nature, the people, and the natural materials used there deeply inspired me and became the starting point for the design of ORA.

The seating and reclining surfaces are set at different angles, creating two distinct seating experiences on either side. ORA stands neutrally in the room – without a defined front or back. It is up to the user to decide from which side they wish to sit, defining both perspective and function.

The frame is made of bent elm wood veneer and is constructed entirely without screws. High-quality upholstery and a wool fabric by Kvadrat complete the piece.
Longevity is a central part of the concept: the bent wood veneer can be sanded and refinished if needed, and the fabric cover is removable and replaceable. This ensures that the armchair remains adaptable and durable over time.
