CRADLE is a seating object derived from the archetype of a cradle. By enlarging the longitudinal section of a traditional cradle to adult scale, the design transforms a symbol of protection into a contemporary architectural volume for rest.
The form preserves the essential geometry of a cradle: a lowered center and elevated slender sides. Unlike conventional upholstered furniture composed of cushions, CRADLE is conceived as a unified volume where softness is subordinated to structure. The side elements function as spatial boundaries, creating psychological enclosure and a sense of calm.
Reduced to its essential lines, the object avoids decorative gestures and visible mechanisms. It stands independently within an interior, operating between sculpture and furniture. CRADLE redefines seating as a spatial condition of balance, protection, and architectural presence.
