The Re-flat pack sofa redefines the lifestyle of the urban nomad. It eliminates traditional polyurethane foam—which is bulky and difficult to recycle upon disposal—and replaces the cushioning with the resilience of super-elastic Nitinol.
Through this novel approach, the sofa functions with an umbrella-like mechanism. It collapses into a compact Ø250mm bundle for transport and instantly expands into a voluminous sofa with a simple, single motion, without the need for tools.
A key aesthetic feature is the harmony between metal and warm textures. Instead of merely covering a frame, individual Nitinol rods are wrapped in fabric and then intricately hand-woven to form the sofa's structure itself. This labor-intensive "structural weaving" provides ergonomic support and a soft tactile finish, infusing high-tech materials with human sensibility.
The design offers infinite repeatability. Unlike conventional flat-packs, it withstands endless cycles of folding and unfolding without deformation. By reducing shipping volume and ensuring permanent durability, it proposes sustainability in furniture logistics and allows users to experience continuous comfort free from spatial constraints.
